What to do when you're discouraged from being rejected. . .

Tell me if this sounds familiar.
This week I went on a listing appointment and I was not competing with anyone else. I had received the phone call from this seller as a referral from a past client. Slam dunk, right?
I did my thing and began scheduling the cleaner and photographer to prep for the sale.
The next day I received a text that said "Hi Lisa, we have decided to go a different route. Thank you for your time."
What happened???

But let's be honest. Even as a seasoned agent who isn't dying for the paycheck, my brain first went to self-doubt and discouragement.
So how do you come out of discouragement?
Here's the trick, life is not about avoiding discouragement, it's all about how long you choose to stay in it.
Right now no one has positive news about the market. Interest rates are up, buyers are in a holding pattern, and sellers are frustrated (and frustrating)...I'm not telling you anything you don't already know. Your job right now has some additional challenges because of current market realities.
It's pretty easy to acknowledge what's going on but MUCH HARDER to keep out of discouragement.
